Isaac Slade Appointment

Isaac Slade Appointment

“I was watching a Lady Gaga video the other night. I wish I had a persona to put on when I go to stage, to sing from and hide inside. But I don’t. I think in the past that’s been a scary thing for me. It does feel like I get up on stage and take my clothes off. I feel embarrassed. I feel naked.” – Isaac Slade

Scars and Stories

Scars & Stories
Scars & Stories is the title of The Fray’s third studio album, we all know that. Here, in this post, I’m telling you the meaning behind this title. What scars? What stories? According to Isaac Slade, the title came from a song he wrote that didn’t make the album. The song talks about the five love relationships he has had in his life. He said that: “all had good things and bad ones, but they all made me have the marriage I have today”. And also, he has said in some interviews, talking about scars, that: “scars are sexy and kind of a map of what we’ve been through”. So, what he wants to say with all this, I think, is that: we all have scars and that make us be the person we are.

Isaac Slade lived for a while in Guatemala, which I already said in previous posts. Now I’m going to show you him talking in Spanish during a show in Spain. I hope you like it :)

A fact about You Found Me's video

You Found Me’s music video fact

Today I’m going to tell you some interesting fact about You Found Me’s music video. The Fray’s members are supposed to be like “angels”. Not because it is actually the song’s meaning. It just could fit and they decided it’d be good in the video. So, Isaac, Joe, Dave and Ben are like angels who are seeing everything that happens and are everywhere. Here you can watch the music video and notice that:

How To Save A Life (album) is already 8 years old

Hey guys! Since yesterday, How to Save a Life’s album is already 8 years old. It seems like a lot, right? The Fray’s first album was released the 13th October 2005. The album reached 3.000.000 sells and 8.000.000. downloads. Also I should add that, in that time, it was the most downloaded album of all time. And, with the singles “Over my Head (Cable Car)” and “How to Save a Life”, The Fray reached international fame. Especially after “How to Save a Life” (song) was featured on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy. Life’s album is already 8 years old. It seems like a lot, right? The Fray: why this name?

Hey guys! I’m pretty sure some of you are wondering this: why The Fray? Why this name? The story about that is this:

The Fray was just formed and they needed a name, and they were going to play in Caleb (Isaac’s brother)’s graduation party. So, they put out a fishbowl and told people around there to write band names and put them there. There were lots of names there, but they finally decided that “The Fray” was the best one.

What is Some Trust about?

The Fray – Some Trust
Well, The Fray has never talked about this song in any interview, but this is a good song to talk about in this new post. This song is from their Reason EP from 2003. The song is about the different kinds of people that there are in the world, that’s what can be appreciated in the song. We don’t know if there’s any specific story behind it, but who knows? What is surely very clear, is that all of us trust something, or someone, as The Fray is telling us in this song.

Here you can listen to this awesome song:

The story of Heartbeat

The Fray – Heartbeat

This song’s inspiration was a trip Isaac Slade took to Rwanda. They were travelling looking for inspiration, and Isaac decided he wanted to go to Rwanda. He wanted to see how the country recovering and stuff was. He saw the country coming back to life and that’s what he wants to express with the song: a girl coming back to life. He was having lunch and they were giving thanks, and he felt the heartbeat of the woman next to him. He recalls: “I can’t say if it was her pulse or mine, I just felt Rwanda coming back to life”. Then, he caught his phone and recorded an idea for the song. He says: “all the kids at school were looking at me and so happy, like if they knew I was singing about all them”.

Here you can listen to an awesome live version of the song:
