The
Fray – Amistad (1st version of You Found Me)
You
might know that the song “You Found Me” has had changes in its lyrics. It was
actually first called “Amistad”. And these were the lyrics:
I found
God, on the corner of first and Amistad
Where
the west, was all but won
All
week-long, smoking his last cigarette
I said:
“Where you’ve been?”
He
said: “Ask anything”
Where
were you when everything was falling apart?
All my
days were spent by the telephone
It
never rang, and all I needed was a voice
That
never came, to the corner of first and Amistad
Lost
and insecure. You found me, you found me
Blood
was on the floor. Where were you? Where were you?
Just a
little late. You found me, you found me
Always
right on time. And so I wait for you
Answer
this: everytime I turn around, something else, is on its way to break down
Far
from home, I do feel on my very own
Two
feet alone, in the corner of first and Amistad
Lost
and insecure. You found me, you found me
Blood
was on the floor. Where were you? Where were you?
Lots to
say to you. You found me, you found me
Just a
little late. And so I will not wait
So I’ll
stand up, to my full heigh: “maybe you’re wrong and maybe I’m right”
Either
way I’ll break my stare by the door I hold my hand
Lost
and insecure. You found me, you found me
Blood
was on the floor. Where were you? Where were you?
Lots to
say to you. You found me, you found me
Just a
little late. And so I will not wait much longer for some plan
It’s
all a plan! It’s all yet. All I needed was a call
Well,
